Do you only carry beer kits or do you also carry the individual components?

We carry both beer kits as well as home brewing supplies.  We sell our grains by the pound and there is a price break after you buy enough grains.  Our home brewing supplies are as fresh as they come.

Is making your own beer or wine cheaper than buying already made beer or wine at the store?

It depends.  If you make beer with the all grain method then yes, if you end up making beer by the extract and specialty grain method it’s about the same.  Most home brewers end up making beer because it is a hobby where you get to reap the benefits.  The quality of beer that you end up making is far better then what you could find In the store.  Just like bread, it tastes better when you make it yourself. With our fresh ingredients and advice along the way, you can be brewing great beer as soon as you start.

Is making beer or wine easy?

Simple answer is yes.  If you can make chili you can make beer or wine.

How hard is it to make your own recipes?

After a few recipes that are tried and true you should be able to start making your own recipes.  You just need to learn the flavor profiles of different ingredients and then every starts to make sense.

Where can I find good information about homebrewing and wine making?

We have a blog which we are always putting out great information about tips and tricks for the hobby at www.jaysbrewingblog.com
